Right now my hair is tied up in a bandana knot. I'm trying new hairstyles for my in-between-hair-washing days. Did you know you shouldn't wash your hair everyday? Well, apparently you shouldn't. Which works for me, because I don't. Just too lazy, I guess. I usually alternate between hair down on clean hair days and hair up on slightly-less-clean hair days. (Stop reading now if you want... This really isn't going anywhere...)
Ponytails and buns can get pretty boring so we'll see how these bandana curls work out. I attempted foam curlers last week and the result was much, much more extreme than I intended. I spent half the day deflecting compliments like "Cute curls!" with a half-hearted "Oh, thanks." They're the kind of compliments well-meaning folks share as a way of politely acknowledging an obvious change in your appearance, whether that change is good or bad... or just different. Like when The Coworker dyed her hair maroon and I thought YIKES!! but what I told her was "Cute hair!" I could grow a beard and people would probably say "Cute beard!" Maybe if I curled it, anyway. Or dyed it maroon.
I guess what I'm trying to say is, compliments are nice. Even the insincere ones.
